Situated in Glenroy and just 12 kilometers from the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, Northern Golf Club boasts a beautiful 18-hole championship golf course. The club’s modern golfing and entertainment facilities are available to members and their guests including:

Our club has a proud history of developing and supporting golf since Melbourne’s earliest days. Formally established in 1896, and then known as the Essendon Golf Club, the course moved to Glenroy over 110 years ago. During this time, the course has evolved to become a challenging, premium golf destination.

The tradition of supporting elite golfers also continues today. Due to the quality of our facility, Northern hosts yearly major events on the Southern PGA tour and the National Legends PGA tour, with leading professionals competing from around Australia. We also host major Golf Australia events for men, women and juniors. Past winners include rising stars, Lucas Herbert and Todd Sinnott.

Northern Golf Club is a private members club. Becoming a member of Northern Golf Club will give you access to all the facilities on offer at the Club.

Junior Membership

Northern Golf Club, the premier golf club in Melbourne's north, offers a fully planned and integrated junior golf membership pathway with a range of programs available for children and young people. The Northern Golf Club Junior Program exists to promote the enjoyment of golf and provide opportunities for our young people to develop golf skills in a friendly and structured environment.

Northern Golf Club prides itself on its role as a custodian of the game, not just for those playing now, but also for future generations of golfers. We are proud of our long-term commitment to developing and nurturing boys and girls from a young age to our Junior Membership level that has been developed for those under 21 years of age.

Women's Introduction Membership

Come and join the Northern Golf Club with a great new Introduction Package. It gives you the chance to experience our amazing golf course and find your love of golf.

What membership categories are available at Northern Golf Club?

Northern Golf Club offers a select range of membership categories, including 6 Day and 7 Day Full Memberships, as well as introductory pathways designed to suit different stages of a member’s golfing journey.

Is there a joining fee?

Yes. Northern Golf Club currently has a joining fee of $4,000 for Full Membership categories.

Is there a waiting list to join?

Membership demand at Northern Golf Club remains strong. A waitlist applies for Full Membership categories, and applications are progressed as vacancies become available. Availability is influenced by overall demand for golf, as well as changing playing patterns and usage habits of existing members.

Can I play golf while my membership application is being considered?

Yes. In some circumstances, applicants on the waitlist may be able to play on a casual green fee basis, subject to availability and Club conditions.

What facilities are included with membership?

Members enjoy access to:

Can members bring guests?

Yes. Members may introduce guests in accordance with Club guest policies and tee time availability.

Yes. Northern Golf Club maintains a dress standard both on course and within clubhouse areas. Members and guests are expected to comply with the Club’s dress regulations at all times.

Are payment plans available for membership fees?

The Club may offer payment arrangements for annual subscriptions. Please contact the Membership Office to discuss available options.

Does Northern Golf Club offer golf lessons?

Yes. Members have access to five PGA Professionals and a range of coaching programs and practice facilities.

Can I host functions or business meetings at the Club?

Yes. Northern Golf Club offers function spaces and boardroom facilities suitable for corporate events, private functions and social occasions.
